Backup and scanning gear
Photo Organizer free beta, run by The Ready Society. Last updated 30 October 2026.
Photo Organizer keeps your photos on your own computer, so a second copy on a drive you own is a simple way to protect against a lost or broken laptop. These are the kinds of things that help most. Each button opens a search on Amazon, so you see what is in stock, whether it delivers to your country, and today's prices and reviews.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. It does not change the price you pay. See the Privacy notice.
Portable SSD for backups
Keep a second copy of your photo folder (and the .photo-organizer folder) on a fast, pocket-size drive. Choose a size at least twice as big as your photo folder, so it has room to grow (to see its size, right-click the folder and choose Properties on Windows, or Get Info on a Mac).
External hard drive (4 TB or more)
A low-cost way to keep a full backup of a large library at home. Copy your photo folder to it once a month and keep it unplugged in between.
Photo scanner for old prints
Scan boxes of old prints quickly, then add the scanned folder to Photo Organizer and set the dates with Set date or Move dates.
USB-C SD card reader
Copy photos from a camera card straight into your photo folder, then press Rescan.
Compact photo printer
Print your favourites at 10 x 15 cm from the app (Print, 10 x 15 cm) on a small printer at home.
Photo albums
For the prints you make: slip-in albums for 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 in) photos.
Digital photo frame
Show an album on a frame in the living room. Export the photos with Export copies, then copy them to the frame.
